I saw you were possibly interested in an escort. I have a 98 manual ZX2 cool edition. I was fortunate enough to get the car from my bio dad so I knew everything that was wrong with it and what not before I got it. When I got it the check engine light was on..and lets just say still is. Even hooking up the code reader we cannot find anything major wrong. It runs great and gets good gas milage. I have had it for 4 years and all I have done was replace a belt, a tie rod recently, and my odometer broke about a month ago. That is really about it. It really has been a good car. I have been fortunate to not have anything major go wrong "knocks on wood".

I've bought all my rigs except for my Toyota which is in my parent's name anyway. my mom helped me with my first truck, I paid half she paid the other (it was only $600).

If the parents buy a kid a car I believe the child should pay them back for it...

Just as long as the parents AHHH..........fix it first!

I drive my parents cars sometimes. Then again...they drive mine. Both have driven my explorer. Dad has driven my 56 several times.

Mom refuses to drive it. It reminds her too much of "home". My grandfather had a sawmill and dairy farm when she was growing up. Too many old farm trucks for her. :rotz:

Well, assuming they can come to an agreement on price (I'm not involved in that at all), she'll have a '95 Saturn sedan pretty soon.

Aside from being a Saturn, it's a nice car, and the guy selling it said all the right things- one owner, selling because his kids are now outgrowing the back seat, etc. Low miles (100k), 5-speed, drives pretty good, plenty of power for what it is. Not many options (crank windows, manual locks and mirrors), but it's got A/C and a radio that works.
