Brake woes?!?

Last night when i got back into my truck, my brakes felt very weird. It feels like it pushes, then loses pressure and pushes again.. hope thats helps you visualize.. i CAN still stop but the pedal seems much lower all of a sudden.. any idea why?

Master cylinder is full, no brake fluid visible by rear drums and none on or near front rotors.

Possible the master cylinder is on its way out?

Can you give a little better description buddy? I'm having trouble visualizing what you're talking about...

Maybe it's your brake booster?, could be losing vacuum there.

Just read your posts over there... Sounds to me like it's the master cylinder, but I wouldn't replace ANYTHING 'til you get it looked at by a brake specialist. If the breaks still work and the pedal doesn't sink to the floor, your system is still tight (not losing fluid). It does, however, sound like the truck is having trouble ASSISTING your braking, which would either mean the master or the booster, like Mike said. Get it looked at brother.

Yeh, its currently at the garage, waiting for there call.

If you go on FTE and see my thread, you'll see my frustrations.. apparently my truck has real bad issues cause when my slave in the rear went my foot went to floor, so apparently my front brakes dont work?? yeh b/s

also i guess brakes are never suppose to squeel, mine always have, new pads and good rotors, there FINE

Now im kinda mad, i didnt make TOTM =[

Maybe it's cuz your front brakes don't work. And you've got squeaky brakes and your brakes should NEVER squeal :rofl2:

I'm kidding you man.

LMFAO leave it to you to make me laugh.

Am i wrong though? I mean you should expect some noise.. its pur friction and semi metalic brake pads..

So the mechanic said he checked the master cylinder and it was ok, he adjusted somehing in the back, which im guessing they just adjusted UP the rear brakes... i dont believe they checked the fronts so me and my dad are going to take a look for ourselfs when we get time. The pedal is MUCH better, but still not exactly what i want.

I get a noise from the front rivers side as if the pad was rubbing, or the senseor, but there NEW pads and definetly shouldnt be that low.

I'd have to agree with Skan on this one. When it comes to brakes, I leave that to the pro's. Too much riding on being able to stop to try to fix something like that myself.

When it comes to brakes, I pull out all the stops

Pulling out all the stops might not be such a good thing..........Might want to make sure they're all there ;)
