Bench to Buckets?

I am thinking of swapping out my bench seat (92 F-150 Flareside, 5-speed) to buckets with a center console. Has anyone done this? If so, how hard was it, did you have to add anything in for seatbelts etc?

I swapped in an aftermarket bucket seat/center seat console unit from a Dodge. I reworked the mount a little, and everything worked fine. Seatbelts are fine with no changes.

its not hard. just have to drill extra wholes for the inner braces for the buckets. many junkyards have seats 30 dollars a pair for bucket seats. well atleast around here they do.

It really depends on what vehicle you get the bucket seats out of.Finding seats from a similar vehicle would be your best bet.If you go for true buckets, then you're gonna have to drill new holes as mentioned for the inner seat brackets. The one thing that scares me about that is the fact that there won't be as much structure there compared to a vehicle that came with buckets originally.Try finding a Bronco or a Supercab 80-96 for the best fit.Center console really doesn't matter,as you can use the factory one,or make your own.Seat belts shouldn't make a difference.

I've heard guys using the seats from the same year Bronco's or f250/350s they find in junk yards or online..

You will find that 99% of the seat will be trashed . If no find ones want . get the bases from Bronco /truck then have easy base to fab what ever seats u find . good luck

In my own world
make sure to back the new inside holes with a fender washer from undernieth, to add some strength to the floor.bench seat seat belts work ok, but are a little hard to hook, try to get the inside buckle part when you get the seats, the angle at the end where the belt hooks in has a slight bend to it, and makes it easier to hook/unhook. I have done this to my 89, and my 82. I like it much better than the bench.
