A SB C6 will fit nicely.I think the AOD would work too.

Anything smallblock.....a trans that's not electronically controlled would be the best....less work and no wiring to mess with...the C6 and the AOD are both good trannies...if you want overdrive go AOD.

The AOD can be built to hold up with moderate horsepower right?

Yes,but they're kinda finicky and it takes the right adjustments to make them happy.Alot of people give them a bad rap,but only because they don't know how to adjust them.

how much horsepower are you talking? if its just out a stock 300 a AOD will be fine as long as its taken care of. a C6 is best, but no overdrive.

It will have a 351W or a 460 in it after I repaint. Looking for EFI 351W now. I plan to lower it and use it as a DD and street truck.

oh ok, well a AOD will take some power if it has some 4R70W parts swapped in, or even just a Shift Kit makes it a ton better.

I am also thinking about updating the front clip.

If you can find someone who knows about the AOD and can tune it right,you'll be fine.

It will have a 351W or a 460 in it after I repaint. Looking for EFI 351W now. I plan to lower it and use it as a DD and street truck.

If you get an engine bigger than the 351W,you'll be looking for another transmission because the bell housings will be different.

I priced a 4r70 from him and it was, 1500 shipped for the -500 model and 2250 shipped for the -700 model....
