yep so if your wanting a 460 you will have to get a big block trans. small block trans works for 289,300i6,302,351w,352,etc BB=351m,360,390,400,429,460,etc

nt a complete listing but you should have a real good idea now. do you nd to decide what engine you want beforehand

Yes,but they're kinda finicky and it takes the right adjustments to make them happy.Alot of people give them a bad rap,but only because they don't know how to adjust them.

Not buying it...For an around town tranny or flat drive tranny, they're good. But put much stress on them in stock form they b**ch out. I've had more stock AOD trannies crap out on me, than any of my other rigs combined. Shoot, there was a time when my 87 BKO was my DD and that AOD crapped out three times in 60k. Each rebuild happened at different shops. When I finally sold the thing, only gear it would go in to is second. I'm not exactly sure what adjustment would fix no forward gears or fried OD. I have no love for the AOD, but I will say, they can be built to be respectable. IMO though, if you gotta build it, why not just drop the coin on an OD unit for a C6.

360/390 has the FE bellhousing, so it won't work.

I found a 460 EFI engine complete with harness and computer for cheap thinking about it . Should work well with a C6

Hey Cliff...while you're looking, keep an eye out for me. I'd love to pick up a cheap efi 460 to throw in Thunder to get it driving again. Cheapest I found was $500 from one of my dad's buddies.

Ehh...but it's always been my opinion when you try to get the best of both worlds...you typically end up failing at both. My mind just won't be swayed on the AOD. If it's built, it can be a functional tranny...but under any sort of stress in stock condition, I'll have none of it.
