A few Bronco questions

1) I know it's been covered a million times but there's always conflicting answers. Would a Super Cooling radiator be a direct bolt in on a Bronco with a 400? Some guys say yes, some say mounting holes are different, some say tranny lines need to be adjusted. Anyone care to weigh in on their experience? And the upper and lower hoses will definitely have to be swapped, right?.

Alright...got this covered, but have one final question. Which lower hose did you guys end up running? For a 460?????????

2) Can someone with a Bronco look at their rear seat brackets and latch post and let me know if there is a nut on the other side of the floor on those bolts? I couldn't get those bolts to break loose yesterday, so I'd imagine there are nuts. Luckily one bracket was just sitting there...but I wasn't gonna crawl around under that Bronco with as many snakes and big ol' spiders I saw in the surrounding area..

Got the answer to this from another site...looks like them bastards were just seized.

3) If a brake booster goes bad, will it whistle? Yesterday, my brakes got really spongy and if I got on the throttle really hard or braked really hard I'd hear a really loud whistle from what sounded like the booster and the old girl would start stumbling really bad. So there's obviously a pretty decent vacuum leak somewhere, but I didn't know if I should start with the booster or look else where.

Going with the 350 upgrade.

I didnt have to use a differnt hose with mine. The upper hose on the 72s radiator has a bigger outlet than the bottom so I had to get one that was a little bigger on the end. Napa called it a dual diameter hose.

THe NAPA number for the lower hose is 7799.(If you can stand another trip to the parts house).

Appreciate that Doug...maybe I'll cross reference that hose and be able to pick it up online...or maybe give Brad's buddy a call.

Edit...that could be confusing...the upper and lower hose have the same PN and have the same picture:

Napa had the #'s for the front and rear output shaft seal on my transfer case reveresd

And you were surpised?

Yeah once again, the wonders of technology. The upper hose has an entirely different shape. The picture or application is not correct on their website. My reference point is the plastic wrapper still on the lower hose, which has 7799 on the wrapper. I think they asked me what the width of the upper tank was in order to get the right size. I told them the upper tank was about 4" wide. But then again, I am fortunate to have a NAPA store with the same group of ermployees for at least 15 years.

I couldn't open the link on your reply.

Alright...but as long as I know I'll need the upper hose and it's PN is 7799...I'll be good to go.
