66 F100 Bed measurment

Im reinstalling the bed sides on my 66 f100 styleside bed (chopping longbed down to shortbed) I had taken measuerments before I cut the sides off but they have disappeared. Hopeing someone could measure from inside to inside at the rear pockets I just need to makesure the tail gate opening is going to be correct. Thanks

In the tailgate pocket, midway between the tail lights I get a measurement of 68-9/16"... The lip where the sheet metal wraps around the inner metal frame I get 67-1/2"

I would not rely off of my measurement, since every truck may be a little bit different. I would test fit the tailgate and go from there.

Thanks for the numbers. Unfourtunatly I don't have a tailgate for the bed, im just going to get it close for now and make final adjustments when I get a tailgate.
