Lookin good Duncan Ive never had a problem with the clusters deterioratin in the ones ive messed with.

Thanks Dan...I've heard all kinds of horror stories about the PCB's...I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of this one..I did have a hell of a time removing the speedo cable though, thought I was gonna break something.

I was all worried about breaking the plastic backing...I've already busted a few electrical connector tabs dammit!

What connecter tabs?

On the various connectors to the firewall harness...the plastic was brittle.
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do...I've found some NOS harnesses but nothing for that part.

Oh yeah them little buggers. Maybe try Napa or somethin along them lines.

I don't think any of those places will carry the same style unfortunatley..but thanks for the suggestion though!

Worth a shot if they dont have em then maybe try to find another truck that has good ones and pull em off that.

The problem is the age...they are all gonna be brittle...I'm giving some thought to using Molex or Deutsch connectors and changing them all out to those...just more work.

Hello to all from the new guy

Does anyone know how can find out if my 1979 F-150 Ranger 4x4 short bed is a collectors vehicle.
Thanks,

Honestly... These trucks have no real "market value" from what I've seen. What they are worth is what someone is willing to pay.

So I had to go into the city to get a pickle fork, air hammer and a couple of other things to get more things taken apart. The pickle fork and hammer were for the front suspension components..well holy crap!..it's been a few years since I've worked on vehicles like this but it took damn near an hour to separate the drag link from the pitman arm...needless to say that a new drag link is in order now!
