The PIP code is only in CM.
That means the code will remain there for 60 or 80 start ups unless you clear the code..
Ground the STI wire and turn on the key. When the MIL in the cluster starts to flash out a code remove the ground from the STI wire and then turn off the key. The codes in CM will...
Sounds like low oil pressure in the transmission. Could be a lot of things as the PCM Computer controls the transmission from a bad TPS to a bad plug going into the solenoid pack on the passenger side of the transmission.
Yes it does.No it dose not. The pressure regulator just returns fuel to the tank when the fuel pressure over comes the spring and pushes the valve in the pressure regulator off its seat. If the engine is running vacuum will pull against the spring to let the fuel pressure go lower.
The pump...
Problem fixed.
I think this can only happen to 1992-1995 5.0L engines as they are wired different than any of the other Ford engines.
The 5.0L uses the SIG RET wiring and the other engine use a different ground for the O2 sensor.
What the problem was that the heat from the exhaust manifold...
I did check and clean all of the grounds when this first started.Thinking it might be the Ignition switch so I hot wired the truck by pulling fuses "Q" & "U" so it would run with the key off. The fuel pump only came on once and then I started the truck. It tried to start to rev once with...
I do not go to all the sites as much anymore and post as I have been in and out of the hospital and getting close to 70 years old. Been doing some posting over on an RV site for the Ford F53 from our era.I have replaced the PCM power relay and the Fuel Pump relay.
The computer once powered up...
Can anybody come up with anything that would make the computer keep turning the fuel pump on and off over and over with the key just tuned on once with the engine not running?
It is like you keep turning the key on and off over and over but you are not.
Or it is like the computer is running the...
The ground shield for the Ignition PIP wiring.
If you look at a Ford diagram they all show it only ground at one end.
If you ground both ends it becomes a conductor and not a shield.
Did you ever clear the code and see if it came back after the work you have done on it?
And after clearing it did you check to see if it was still there without starting the engine?
Very easy.
Draw a diagram of where each fuel hose plugs onto it and label the hoses.
Pry the hair pin clip out of each hose where it connects on to the valve.
Pull all the hoses off of the valve.
Note some hoses may have fuel in them and if the tank is full you may need to clamp the hose before...
No not if is not powered up.
Without reading the whole post, did you just replace the PIP sensor or the whole distributor?
The bushings may be out of the distributor.
If you just miss one PIP then you will get that code.
You may have distributor wobble.
I would look at the plug wires very close at night to see if you have any arcing.Other possible causes:
Loose wires/connectors including the PCM plug and its pins.
Arcing secondary ignition components (coil, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, etc.).
On-board transmitter (2-way radio).
Verify all radio...
The diagram above does not show the bushing and that is what wears out in a distributor.
Sounds like you have two problems, a bad pip sensors or a wore out distributor and the wrong ICM (TIF).
I would say someone sold you the wrong ICM, a GRAY one and you need to have a BLACK one.Read...
On my 1994 the VSS is on the side of my E4OD transmission and it feeds the PSOM with the Conversion Constant set at 1.0 from the Factory.
I do Not know the colors (number of teeth) of the gear on the VSS Sensor that goes in the back of the E4OD but the rear end is a stock 5.13:1 ratio with...
The Fuel Monitor is Pin # 8 of the EEC Computer. The Computer can tell if the Fuel Pump Relay closed when it told it to by testing this wire. It tells it to by grounding pin # 22. It can also tell if there is a problem with the pumps by the voltage level of this wire.
No that is done by a one...
