So i was checking out our new Ranger. It's either a 2008 or 2009 i cant remember and i noticed this on the gas cap. It says "Ford recommends BP." I've been using BP exclusively for the past 3 years just because i thought my truck ran better on it. It just feels like it has more pickup and it...
bucks77ford, The truck already has the vents for the heat to blow through and the hole in the firewall is already there from the regular blower box. This was true on my '95 at least. I drive my truck to work every day and it wasn't down at all while i was doing this. I just paced myself and did...
If you find a truck will all the A/C components in tact you're in luck because its easier that way. Here's what you need to take:Condensor (looks like a radiator and is in front of the radiator)
Compressor (looks like an A/C compressor lol, it has two hoses coming off the back, you need these...
76f350sprcamprspeal,That's exactly what i've done!! My truck came from the factory with no air and i used all junkyard parts to put air in my truck for under 100$! Its not that hard. I would say the hardest part is swapping out the regular blower box for the evaporator blower box. I lot of...
tomtoc, i had no idea you got rid of your big eight and got a big six. I've been using 10w40 in mine for about 4 years now with no problems. I love this engine. i never had any problems reaching the filter from the bottom. oh and make sure you put the pan more toward the passenger side than...
skan, may i suggest adding and extra windshield wiper blade to your box? If one of your blades loses the rubber part, you won't be able to have the wipers on when its pouring without scratching your windshield up real bad.
hey i do have the pressure switch and i have jumped it with no success. i dont have the wire that connects to the ECU. there is a plug that goes into the compressor that was already on my truck even though it didnt come from the factory with A/C. if i follow that plug back a few inches there is...
Hey everyone,Well i finally installed air conditioning in my truck after waiting all winter. everything is working fine except i cannot turn on the compressor from the switch in the cab. We had to hot wire the compressor to get the rest of the charge of r134a in it and it was blowing cold air...
I'm reeeally interested in what is wrong with your trans skan. Of the three people i know that have installed the shift kit, all three have had trans troubles! I know mike (msb) said it has nothing to do with the shift kit but this makes me nervous about it. i have the shift improver and im...
That makes two of us Skan. I've been riding around with those springs clanging around for so long im used to it. I don't know where there's a spring shop around me though. :(
so i took my EGR valve off last night and got a lot of carbon out with just a small file. I was hesitant to spray WD40 in there so i put it back on without spraying it with anything. I made sure that the valve could open and close properly then i put it back on there. I haven't had the CEL come...
skan, here's the link for the thread.http://www.fordtruckfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3494That's great news that i'll be able to clean that out and fix the problem without having to buy new parts. Plus, even if you did tell me to do this right away, i probably would have waited until...
nextras, what code were you pulling? i had insufficient EGR code and skan told me to buy a sensor which i havent gotten around to. The light comes on about twice a week still. In any event, im glad to hear you've cleared that code. keep up the good work man. Props to skan for being the brains...
blue goose, im glad i could get your question answered.
conanski, thanks for the detailed response. that makes a lot of sense. so basically my stock engine wouldn't really see much benefit from this mod. what do you think about the gains that 95bronk will see with his engine?
