Hi Guys,
Starting to explore the option of swapping the V-10 in our Excursion for a Diesel. Has anyone done one before? Is the cost worth it or would it be more cost effective to purchase an Excursion with Diesel already? We love our Excursion and makes traveling with the 3 kids easier and...
I feel like it was loaded pretty even and not too much up front.I did have the bars adjusted but might need to play with them some more.At stock height it sits pretty low which is normal for this model truck and never dragged going over any bumps once we got in the dirt.
I have a 2000 Excursion 2wd with V10. We recently bought a 21foot toy hauler, the truck pulled it with no problems the first trip out. The issue I have is even with a weight distribution hitch it really sagged the rear end. The trailer loaded down is about 8k pounds. Would you guys recommend...
So my truck(1990 F350 4x4 460) had been running just fine. Last friday night I parked it at 1230am, I come out in the morning at 10am and find the battery dead. I jump start it off my wifes truck and chock it up to the radio staying on when I shut the truck off. Take off drive it for 30 mins...
Have you checked the timing. My truck was doing the same thing as the distributor was going bad. New distributor and timing set correctly all shifts great. Also clear the codes before setting the timing.
My truck only has the flat trailer harness connection. I need to set it up to use the round connector with trailer brakes for a toy hauler. Any one know how to do this? Or what parts I need.
Just thought I would update you all on this. After I got it back from the shop and i cleared the computer and reset the timing with the new distributor she has been running great. Has a little miss at idle, going to check plugs.
So last week some guy approached me about a trade for my 1990 F 350. I had let him look around the truck and he tilted my steering wheel all the way up. I now have no clue how to put it down. Can some one please tell me how it is annoying to drive it this way. Thank you.
So I took off the idle air control valve yesterday and cleaned it up and cleaned the throttle body. I'm still getting a little miss at idle and I get a check engine fOr it as well. I tested the sensor for its voltage and everything checked out ok. So would that mean the valve itself is going...
So today I it up pulled te codes which it had a few. Set the timing by the book and test drove it. There is a huge difference with the new distributor( burn outs with 37 inch tires). But I keep getting codes for the TPS and EGR Sensor, I tested them per the book and all ok. I still feel the...
Thanks guys. I have it back now and will pull the codes tomorrow. I have replaced the coil already with no change. And I will reset the timing by the book. I just got to a point where I was at my wits end last week. Do you guys think a computer could cause this? They said they pulled an...
well my truck has been at the shop for a week now and the said the distributor was bad so they replaced it, test drove it and it ran good for about ten min then started running rough and died again. After getting it back to the shop they found the timing was advanced to 40 degrees when they had...
After replacing the ignition module it has done it again. I have checked the grounds before an have also replaced the coil with no improvement. I researched the TFI MODULE and couldn't find the part for my truck. If I'm correct it's on the distributor right? But after it leaving me on the side...
I pulled codes before and had an egr code but have since repaired that issue and when this happens I don't get any new codes. Today I went ahead and replaced the ignition control module.
so last night i replaced the ignition swith on the steering column and had found a wire where someone had put a butt connector and never crimped it properly, i was sure this was the issue. after replacing the switch it is now easier to start the truck and the transmission is also shifting alot...
Tranny is a little hard shift but the engine does not smoke or burn any oil. So I'm hoping it's got some life left in her. I really only put about 1000 miles on her a year to go camping
We'll the bill of sale or pink slip had nothing on it. I bought it from a buddy and he thinks it's only rolled once. But also it's spentost of its life with 35" tires and now I have 37" on it so it has got to be close to 175000 I would think. Truck is in pretty good shape motor runs good aside...
1990 F 350 Crew Cab Long Bed 4x4 460 Engine.
So this problem has been messing with me for a while. I will be driving along and the engine will just shut off like i turned the key off. Sometimes it will start back up and run like nothing happened until it does it again. Other times it will die...
ok this has helped me. the parts you listed are the upper bushings so thank you for that. still have not been able to find the lower bushing kit. so my next question is how could i find out what axle is in the truck. acorrding to the haynes book i have this truck should have a ball joint front...
Ok guys im having a hard time finding the correct lower ball joints for my 90 F 350 4x4 with 460 engine. Each one that i find or have been supplied has a a bolt and nut. What is in my truck is different. it has a piece that bolts up from the bottom of the arm with a pin if you would say machiend...
