E4OD Violent Shifts

I was having extremely violent shifts in all gears. I replaced the TPS and now no more violent shifts but itacts like it doesn't want to shift until I let off the accelerator and press it again. Could this be the VSS on the rear diff?

Is it intermittent or all the time?

All the time. I have also check the voltage on the new TPS and it is 1 volt at idle and 4 volts at WOT.

MLPS on the trans may be a problem also. Yes, the VSS can cause your issues.

If I'm thinking this through correctly, I think your VSS would also be throwing an ABS light.

Is there a way to check the MLPS to see if that is the problem? Ohms or voltage maybe.

I am not having an ABS light. It will tach up to 2300 to 2500 Rs and stay there until I let off the throttle and press it again.

I'm inclined to agree with flareside thunder about the mlps.

I have a analog multi-meter that I cna check for trouble codes. Will the MLPS throw a code and if so do you know what the code would be?

I have now replaced the MLPS Sensor. I am still having to let off the throttle to get the tranny to change gears. I have a new Tach Sensor, a new TPS ( adjusted to 1 volt at idle and 4 volts at WOT) and a new MLPS. What else can it be?

Also I was told that I have a leaking injector. Is there an easy way to find out which one it is so that I don't have to replace them all?

Have you checked the timing. My truck was doing the same thing as the distributor was going bad. New distributor and timing set correctly all shifts great. Also clear the codes before setting the timing.
