I could probably bend the bracket a little bit so they're pointing more downward, the plastic shields are there, and I also had my halogen worklight shining in through the back window too. Should have taken the pic with the worklight off to give a truer impression.
Got the courtesy lights installed. Fished the wire through the wiring tunnel on underneath side of dash, and then twisted the driver side wire, and passenger side wiring together. Removed the spade terminal from the wiring harness for dome light and soldered the wires to the spade terminal and...
Okay thank you. Only thing is, when I got the courtesy lights from the Bronco, I didn't get the whole harness. Just the assembly, and about 6 inches of the wire. I'll probably just find some male connectors and see if they will fit the harness where the lighter is plugged in and solder them to...
underdash courtesy light wiringI picked up some underdash courtesy lights from a Bronco in the pull and pay a couple weeks ago and now I'm attempting to install them. I've started on the passenger side, and took out the door jamb switch and removed the glovebox for easier access.The...
Went to the Pull and Pay Wednesday and Thursday, scored a "new" split bench for my 78, came out of a 79. Also got the bench that goes in the extended cab. Now my question is, I want to put the seat belt retractors in my truck but didn't have the mounting bolts/plate. Any suggestions on how to...
I like your truck Dirky. I'm going to keep mine the Jade Green when I get to the point for body work and paint. Do you have any leftover Jade Green interior parts? Looking for a dash right now.
Yes, that could definitely be the problem. I'd tighten them to the recommendations, and then take it for a test drive. Sounds like it's the problem to me though.
Well both of my tanks are steel, so I doubt they want to be drilling on the tanks due to the heat build up/risk of sparks, but I guess if they're determined, there's nothing that will stop them. Hadn't really given skid plate/tank protectors much thought, but might become a necessity if thieves...
I did make the cover for the rear tank rubber filler hose portion. Got a piece of galvanized sheetmetal for like a wood burning stove chimney, and bought some metal plumbers strapping that has holes in the middle of the strapping, and bought some allen head bolts and some nuts and put 3 straps...
I do have locking caps. Didn't really consider that when I got them, that someone would cut the actual fill hose. Pisses me off, that filler hose was 50 bucks. I may try to fab up some kind of metal cover then to either rivet or screw in there. Hopefully that will make them decide it's not...
What could cause a filler hose not even a year old to tear out in the side? Either that or someone cut it and siphoned gas out of my Aux tank. Don't really know how much was in there, as the sending unit reads empty all the time. Any ideas? Also has anyone fabbed some metal kind of metal...
Manual included!!http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2291625092.htmlDon't know, I might have a mind to ask him to drop the price by 23 bucks and buy my own manual. But there's nothing I love more than manuals for anything I own lying around after I don't own the item anymore.
Ok, thanks. I have so much to learn. Currently it's a 4.10 rear end. At least that's what the cover says, but the vin also says that's what it came with.
RPM'ssmiliehijackedI'd like to have lower rpm's at higher speeds, and thought that an OD unit would do that, but after reading these posts, I don't think that's the answer. Currently have a 400 with a 4 speed. As far as I know, it's never been rebuilt. Are there things that can be done...
Hey guys, watching a new program on the Discovery channel. American Treasures where two archaeologists drive around in a 78 or 79 F150 2wd Supercab looking to see if the family tale about an object is true or not. Looks to be an XLT version or something like that. Anyway, it's in really good...
Hi guys,I'm wondering about some ways to improve the defrost for my truck. The side glass, and the rear window get really foggy/icy, and my heater while good, can't keep up. I don't have the ac vents on my truck to try to point at the side glass, and I'm trying to think of someway to improve...
Was hoping for this day to come when my truck is running really well, and we finally have enough snow to try out the 4 wheel drive. Does better than I ever hoped possible. Makes me proud. Think I'm starting to tear up a little bit lol.
Hey guys,Thought I'd update everyone. It's been 20 below here, so not many opportunities to work on the truck, and still hadn't really figured out what was going on with it. So finally just had it towed to a shop, and they looked it over, and it was the fuel pump, the diaphram was shot, and...
Looks good. I'm thinking of doing something similar to mine. Found a donor cab that's in much better shape than mine, but don't know how much they want for it, or if it'll still be there when I'm ready. I have quite a bit of rust in the floorboards, the rear corners, and two big dents in the...
diagramSounds like that may have just been a ground or something, but yeah exposed alligator clips aren't the way for someone to "fix" something. The PO of mine had hacked into the wiring and had crimp connectors all over so took all the wiring out, cut out the crimped wires and soldered in...
I don't really know how the DSII works, but I was coming back to edit my previous post. I didn't have the test light grounded well, cause I went back out and tried it again, and definitely the light stayed ON after the truck died. so now, what would be a secondary ignition and/or fuel delivery...
