I like it. I think he did a good job except for cutting a hole in the frame for the air filter, if he put a little more thought into the way the turbo was mounted I think he could've easily avoided that. Me personally, I'd have run the air filter up through the bottom of the bed and maybe have...
So this somewhat local place was having a 29.99 dyno pull "special" and I was bored, had a few bucks to spare so why not?My '94 made 139 to the wheels! what a beast! LOLI honestly was expecting more like 120ish though, so I was a little impressed.
Well, the brake dust shield will rot out like a mofo, and the caliper becomes a ***** to remove when it rusts enough. Paint looks prettier than rust IMO, too.
Took the brush guard off for a couple pics, I think I'm going to leave it off. Just need to find a good pair of fenders so I can get on the body/paint work.
Thanks guys, ended up passing on that axle anyways since the guy cut the shock mounts off of it.I think I might just rebuild 8.8 and buy a 3.55 gearset with a locker for a little more oomph. It's plenty peppy around town with 3.08's, but with a 3-4k lb. trailer and/or a lot of weight in the...
MPG-wise?Thinking of buying a Sterling 10.25 rear-end for my newly-acquired '94 but since I drive the truck a lot on the highway, I don't want to throw my fuel mileage out the window completely, 1 or 2 mpg drop wouldn't concern me though. The 10.25 I'm considering has 4.10's in it though...
Yeah I'll probably go with black if I decide to do the one on my '91 also (this thread is the one on the '94) but it should match better when I cleanup/refurbish more parts, brackets, etc. in the engine bay. I'm trying to do a budget-limited resto to the truck piece by piece.
Mostly a couple different styles of wire-wheels. For a few of the rust pieces that were about to come off when I took it off I just used sort of a thick-bladed gasket scraper.
Well.. this might be a weird sight for some of you southern guys, but all the trucks I've had up here have accumulated some nasty looking rust on the battery box. So Instead of buying a new one or trying to dig around the junkyard for one mint truck, I figured I'd put some love and care into the...
You're not using something wimpy like a 3/8 ratchet are you..?I always use my 1/2" drive breaker bar for cylinder head bolts, broken a couple 1/2" drive ratchets.
Just what I needed, another truck lol..4.9L, 5 speed, 3.08's, nothing special but it was in good enough shape to drive home, for $500 I couldn't go home without it.
