So i picked up an ex cop light bar that has been retrofitted with amber and clear lenses. It originally had 6 settings (flashers/rotators/alley lights etc.) but i want to wire it up to be all or nothing. I was thinking of how i was going to wire it up and am thinking it would be cool to run the ground from the roof to the frame then splice the 12 power cables into the emergnecy flasher switch on my truck. that way when i turn on the flashers the lightbar would come on too.

how would i go about doing this?
im not sure how to tap into the power supply and switch for the flashers.

also if i add up the total draw of the lightbar and add it to the current flasher draw i should get the total amperage i need on the new fuse right?

help me yall! if you have a better wiring sujestion id love to hear it.
i will post a pic of the lightbar on the truck, i havnt built a mount yet so its just setting on the roof but you get the idea of what it will look like

You can not wire the bar to the emergency flasher switch.
The emergency flasher switch is powered by a flasher and the load would be to great.

But here is a diagram of how you could do it.

Here is a diagram below of how your emergency flasher switch is powered for your reference.

Good Luck.

If you tag in before the flasher, you could get a steady voltage, but I would recommend just using it to power a relay that then supplies the power to the light bar to avoid over taxing the circuit.
