I've been to the actual store. Cool place to walk around in. When I was there it seemed a bit expensive. But I haven't bothered going there in a few years.

Yeah...flipping through they're catalog, they looked reeeeeeeally expensive. I also can't determine how they justify the prices either. Some of their stuff is more expensive than DC stuff, but I highly doubt it's the same quality. Although, the one intriguing thing I did see from them, was they offered unpolished grille shells for pretty cheap. Again, I dunno the quality, but a little elbow grease or a chrome job would still be cheaper than LMC or DC.

That nice, but...how many basic part numbers do you have memorized, 50, 100, less/more?

I have over 10,000 basic numbers memorized, so while you're searching thru pics lookin' for the basic number, I've already typed the full part number, searched for and found it, and...

If you are really slow, the person that requested the part may have already called and bought it. :)

Next time I'm in Oklahoma I will try to stop buy and see if they have a grille on display and see what it looks like.

Okay, so in my never ending quest to roll up my window with ease, I went to switch the handles tonight. (Perhaps the teeth in the hand are worn... NOPE!) Ends up that the doors have different window mechanism parts.

It appears that the driver's side is designed to have some soft of pin that fits in the hole to keep the handle from having any play.

Pull the door panel off and see if it still has rivets holding the mechanism in. I'm guessing you have worn away the splines. It is time for a new mechanism.

You just need a new regulator. That looks pretty worn out. AFAIK, there was no pin ever holding the handle in. Besides how would you get it in there without messing up the panel?

That's my thought. Panel is pretty easy to take off on the driver's side; P.O. lost the mounting hardware and decided to use screws instead! :headbang:

eBay!

BTW, as stated, there was never a pin used in the design of the window handle. The PO probably drilled it to fix the very problem you are having. Yup, those splines are toast!

Good luck!

Who quoted you $300.00, Green Sales?

Since the part is obsolete, it can no longer be returned to Ford for credit, so the dealers are STUCK with it.

Green Sales is in the biz of selling obsolete parts.

Last year on t'other site, I listed 16 of this same regulator.

Sanderson Ford in AZ had them and were asking $78.00 each, which was below their original cost.

All have since been sold. Bottom line...call the dealers first! And call all of them, since some dealers are high binders.

I know of two high buck dealers, I usually don't list them...except when no one else has the part...and then I preface the dealers name with "High Buck!"

40 or 45 bucks = Made in China garbage. How long will it last?

What guarantee do you get? Prolly 90 days or 4,000 ft...whichever occurs first.

You get what you pay for...buy the best and cry only once.
