Post Whores Make Me Sick
Barney from Ford called me back today to let me know that he had talked to the warranty department and it looked as though I was good to go. He had me go out to my truck and explain what I saw on the switch and harness and he confirmed that my setup is perfectly fine. He said they had put on what they call a "jumper harness" which is just a harness that goes inline on the switch circuit with an inline fuse (I'm sure most of you are familiar with this).
Side note: I bought some door panel clips at the dealership in Davis. Guy came out with clips that didn't look quite like I remembered them looking, and I told him that. He ASSURED me that Ford only ever use ONE kind of clip. I bought 12 @ $1.50 per clip
I took them to this dealership with little hope of returning them (different owners) and the guy behind the parts counter told me RIGHT away that they were the wrong clips. I set them on the counter ---
Him: "Those are wrong."
Me: "Huh? Whatchu mean?"
Him: "Those are the wrong clips."
He didn't even know which vehicle I was driving and knew they were wrong
He explained very nicely that there was no way he could take them and apologized for that and told me to have a good day. I was very impressed with the service I got at this dealership, I'll be going back there when I need things in the future.
