v3...the Dents we find

^^Thanks, guys. Just an effort to keep the threads as accurate as possible. Still a real nice truck.

Mine has a tu-tone job on it now when it was originally solid green, so I can't put down any truck with a paint change. It all depends on what you like.

Same here, where mine is cream, used to be silver.

Not crazy about the large wheels and the long bed for practicality reasons driving around town, but aside from that....this thing is close to what I'd want for more of a family runner! Nice:

Some one did a terrible job on everything in that truck. Take a good look at all the over spray in the door jambs. The tires degrade. The roof can't support a sky light. The design on the upholstery is tacky. The appearance of it looks good. Whats that under the passenger door, a wasp nest ?

Agreed...only things it really has going for it is the fact that it's a super cab...and has the back cab trim. Beyond that, wouldn't touch that truck if it were given to me...much less the $6k bid and certainly not the $12k asking price.

This is why you guys will be checking out a rig for me before I buy it....at least with pictures and such if you're not able to go physically check it out! :)

As corny as it sounds...I use Scott's (ranger429) trucks as a benchmark. He knows what they're worth and what they're going for, and always has a solid product, and he won't take a bath on them. If you'll recall his all OEM/NOS dirver restoration crew cab went for 12k. Now given the choice of the super cab or scott's old CC, I know which I'd go after.

Not corney, but I always thought his was underpriced for the value, which would mean if that was your bench mark, everything else out there would be overpriced because there are rare and very few rigs that match up to those builds.

I really think his truck was worth a lot more money which makes it hard to compare to anythin.

ehhh...I'm more of the thought that everyone else is overpriced. I don't give a shit that you spent 50k on your truck because you paid someone else to do it and got ripped off. Rule of thumb is 1/3 of what's invested (not including labor)...don't think just because you just got fresh paint from Maaco that you now have a restored rig and deserve to get 15k for it. To me...that's one of the funniest things when guys buy rigs and expect a heros return, but they don't really know jack and have a complete side of mud and orange peel out the wazoo...there's a difference between paint and body work and PAINT and BODYWORK.

But Ben... I make a lot of money off of Maaco paint jobs! :D

I didn't say anything about paint or bodywork. I actually meant comparing this truck to Scott's isn't viable as my opinion is that his truck was too cheap.

Paint and body is the essence of a restore. But my whole point is Scott's trucks are realistically priced...other people see trucks like Scott's and assume just because they threw filler and sprayed paint at their truck...that now it's magically restored to the level and quality of a truck like Scott's. I affectionately refer to this as Barrett-Jackson syndrome.

No one's disagreeing with you Ben, what we're saying is, the fact that you think Scott's trucks are reasonably priced, makes all those "other" restored rigs overpriced to you when to others, the price may not be so bad because someone like me would have paid another $5k or so for what Scott's rigs actually sold for.

Gotcha...in that case...yes...exactly what you just said.
