transmission swap

I want to replace my 5 speed with a C6. I was reading the f250 & f350
Had c6 and they aren't electronic shift.
Coudl I put one in my f150 and not have to chang computers?
What all do I need to do the swap?

You could if you don't mind the loss in fuel economy. A few more questions are needed to be answered though. First, 2wd or 4wd. Then also which motor, although all from that year range have some form of C6 available. You would either have to add a floor shifter for the auto or change out the steering column. It depends what you would be willing to do with the clutch pedal as well. The crossmember you have will work, just may have to bolt into a different location. The drive shaft likely will need replaced if 2wd.

4.9 2wd . Not worried about the gas mileage.
Definately put in floor shifter. What about speedometer?
Want it to be accurate.

What year are you swapping? 87-91 have speedo cables, 92-97 the speedo reads from the rear axle electronically.

My truck is a 93 not sure what years my choices are for the c6

Being a 93 you can use any year trans you want, the speedo reads off the rear axle. The one trick will be the hookup at the throttle body. You would need to get the downshift rod from an 87 or so that had them.
