Yeah, Brad called me after he talked to you and we agreed that'd be a good start.
The big question I have is-- did this vibration start when you swapped in the new axle? If so then that narrows it down quite a bit. Couple other ideas if the u-joints don't pan out: is the pinion nut tight? Is there play in the pinion? (might need a new bearing or bushing). I also replaced a brass bushing that was in the tail housing of my transfer case (you probably have one in the tail housing on your tranny) when I was hunting down a vibration-- that could also cause a vibration like you're saying.
I don't think the flexplate is your issue because my understanding is that this is only happening at higher speeds. Everything forward of the transmission is completely speed-independent. The only things that spin at different rates with different speeds are from the trans-->back.
Start with the u-joints and report back.
yeah im gonna do that tomorrow afternoon.
and no the vibration didnt start when i swapped rear ends. its only been going on for bout 2 1/2 weeks maybe 3 weeks. and ive had that rear in my truck for bout 4 1/2 months.
