Don you'd be shootin' yourself in the foot to try to pull codes with a harness that's been chewed threw by rodents. It'll throw all kinds of codes about not getting readings from sensors (that could potentially be GOOD parts) because it doesn't have a good connection. I'd replace that harness and THEN pull the codes.

Well the harnes is not all garbage, i was lookin at it today at work, and there are some wires chewed bare, but still connected and wires that have been chewed threw, i cut, stripped and resoldered the wires that had been messed, up but i think there may be more messed up somewhere, which would be why i want to read the codes, see what sensors are not reading and trace their wires, BEFORE i replace anything... Once i am 100% sure that the harness is good, then i will start replacing parts....

Fair enough. Then maybe it's not as bad as I was thinking it was.

Its not as bad as i thought it was either...
Its worth a shot...
I was thinking that the removal of the EFI system would put me a step ahead on the MAF swap when i get ready to do it... I will have the harness already out to do what splicing i need.

Don for pulling codes you can use the paper clip technique. see www.fordfuelinjection.com also switching to a carb may not only eliminate the whole wiring issue but also may open up some more power and ultimately a possibility of better fuel economy. JAT on my part, however, fuel injection is pretty darn efficient and consistent.

I've done the swap on an 88 F-150 about 6 years ago and that truck was a different animal. It did, however, look kind of naked under the hood.
