Good point on the maf... Looks like a good cam...
I will look into the maf conversion...
Anybody know what the serpentine belt lenght is if you remove the air pump?
All my smog stuff got yanked awhile ago...
And the air pump is just sitting there... Pumping air back into well... the air...
Basically its sitting there robbing power...
I want it gone....

Underdrive pulley kit arrived today...
Installation in progress....

How about the drawbacks from the underdrive pulley kit? Is it causing damage to accessories? Underpoweing the alternator? Which kit is it? How many and which pulleys? WE NEED DETAILS!

It's the kind that works... smilietease

I have pics i will post here after awhile... But
The kit i got was the black steel kit from BBK, i ordered it through summit racing...

It replaces the alt pulley, water pump pulley and the crank pulley....
The alt pulley is smaller but not by much at all...
The water pump pulley is actually bigger, but again not by much....
The crank pulley is ALOT smaller...
I didnt take pics of the water pump pulley, but the other two i did, i will post them in a min...

seems to have no affect on the charging system, the gauge reads actually SLIGHTLY higher than it used too...
cooling system is working like normal.
The truck runs like a raped ape right now...
I also threw in a new O2 sensor as i noticed mine got messd up...
Waiting on the EGR cancelation kit to come in.... Hopefully today, but im not sure mail runs today... Pics to follow....

well the instructions were lame...
Pulling the pulley off the alt was a p.i.t.a. i used a vice to hold the pulley to back out the nut...
The crank pulley would had been easy, had i used the supplied bolts first time around...
The pulley is so small there is no clearence for a socket to get in between the bolts and the pulley...
So they supplied allen headed bolts....
Dont think they are graded like the stocks, but they work...
My phone i being super gay right now, wont let me send the pics...
Will post them up when i get a chance...

well i lost the phone, there fore losing the pics of the install...
It was pretty basic,
not difficult, done in about an hour...

I discovered though that some varmit has chewed through quite a few wires near the computer...

Which explains why the trucks runs like a 3 cylinder geo on diesel...

so i am considering throwing on a carb until i get the stuff together for a MAF conversion...

Anybody got some links on going from F.I. to Carbed?

Well,... I think it should be pretty easy.
Change out the manifold and run a HEI dizzy the reason I say HEI is one wire hook up.. and you should be set.
CL has some Manifold and you can get a HEI for under 80 bucks off Ebay..

Back to the topic of an extinguisher being inside a burning rig... I would think that it would eventually burst and put out the fire :)

Don, personally I think it'll be a LOT of work and pretty exorbitant amount of money to retrofit your truck with a carb just to be a "temporary" solution. If you're gonna do it right, do it right the first time. It'd be a LOT less work to just find a new computer or even just install a new harness.

Yea i was really thinking about that today chris, and right now im sitting dead in the middle, right on the fence...
I would love to fix the EFI, but i think there are more problems then originally thought.
First off i need to find a code reader and see what kind of codes im throwing so i can get her running right again...
I know the truck can scream, but it dont happen to often, the CEL tends to throw on the brakes pretty quickly...

Anybody know of a code reader?
I had one but never got it to read a darn thing...
