Thoughts on Lincoln Mark VII/VIII's

I went and checked out a 97 LSC yesterday. I was just driving to my little sister's bball game, and I saw it parked in a side lot. When I parked next to it, I saw the for sale sign. The guy wanted 1500 for it. It only had 133,000 miles. But the driver's seat motor was stripped, the air bags leaked (but did come back when the car started), and the passenger side door handle was busted. Also, when I hopped in, the car was already in drive...not park, I put it in park and started in, put it in drive and the car barely wanted to move. That said, I wasn't so much looking to buy it as I was looking to size it up and see if I could see myself in one...and I definitely think I can. I'll just need to start looking at the ones in the 3-5k range, preferably around 100k and coil overs already done.

My uncle checked it out for me...said it drove well, looked like the fresh paint was to cover up sins. He said the interior was ehhhh. I talked to the guy, he said he wasn't wanting to deal with money down or a payment plan, but he hasn't gotten much interest thus far, and if someone came along really serious he'd give me a call.

That said...it'll probably work out for the better, because I'll be going a month without a paycheck come the first of the month. The coin I had saved will more than likely keep me afloat. Stay tuned for details.

Not bad...not bad at all. But I'm gonna be a tad of a snob, and say my focus is more or less on the 97-98's...unless the right 93-96 comes along at a good price. As is, I've found several of the 93-96's that already have the coilovers and right at 100k on the odo, under $3500. But thanks for the heads up...if you see anymore, definitely send them my way.

^^^I'm not opposed to offering a finder's fee...can't promise it'll be 10%, but if a sale goes through, I definitely wouldn't mind sliding a Benjamin or two your way.

^^^Yeah...I've already offered finder's fees on other sites I frequent...so why not this one. Besides, ATL looks like they have a decent selection of these cars...just none that smell like cocoa butter, you'll get punched in the throat if it does.
