Ow I got at least 120000 on all the trucks I bought new . I did changes . Its the used trucks I have issue with and the the rebuilt trans that seem to be the worst.

The trans I had was a new trans not rebuild . They might fix it for me.

As for trans flush if you dont know trucks upkeep and it has 100000 I wouldn't even touch it .

I got well over 200000 on 2 F150 with 5 spd And know of 3 that r pushing 300000.

I have Zf setup but not worth effort of install on the 95 I have .

change too see? ;) on that T18 and no need to mess with it again in sight! :)

Got a spare T18 that came with a parts truck, betcha I never need it. ;)

My pop bought a 94 new it has 33O,OOO on engine and trans nothing rebuilt 3O2 e4Od. We used and abused it hunting and hauling scrap steel, a bobcat, other trucks.

different bellhousing if im not mistaken..
And don't give more than $50 for a used E4od.
A wreckin' yard'll replace 'em over and over 'til you get a good one at least. ;)

Read a story where a guy brought back a bad transmission to the wreckin' yard.
He didn't pull it himself. So he pulls one from a -wreck- and it's a good one. :)

Happy ending? ;)

Back in the wreckin' yard for something else and sees those guys sell that same
bad transmission to some other guys. :) ...it'd been laying on the floor in the
same spot since he'd brought it back -and- from the same spot he'd bought it
from. LOL :)

I wouldn't doubt it.

That would be the last visit i ever paid to that particular yard ......... and i'd tell anyone who listened the reason why.

Transmission on this truck ('93) has about 210,000 on it. Prior truck ('93) had 232,000 on it when I sold it. No issues with either- or the Marquis, which is coming up on 200,000. The only thing I do different, perhaps, is never let it shift into OD until 55-60 mph- and even then not if I'm in the hills (we've got lots of them out here).

I have had over 150000 on trucks I bought with 50000 and kept up . But I have parted out 12 I bought with bad trans in last 6 years with bad trans with under 120000 miles .

McLeod clutch went out in my '75 F150. A fulcrum pin fell out! LOL :)
(installed 2003, 10 years and 45k miles ago)

Was in town with the family just finishing up shopping and went to start
the truck and no clutch disengagement was possible. Crawled under it
adjusted the "crayon" out and out and out some more and still no good.

"crayon..." {welded a motorcycle wrist pin to lengthen it years ago}
crayon.jpg

No sweat, it's a manual, drove home with all our groceries and stuff. LOL :)

Took the inspection "pan" off the bottom (360FE + T18) found the hard
steel pin and a piece of cotter pin. Had bought a new diaphragm clutch
for it about a year ago and so that part's covered but I've been working
on that and several others things I've been wanting to do to it for fun
and will take advantage of it while it's up on blocks.

--------------------------

Funny tho the clutch disc itself is hardly worn (yeah, I measured it when
new;) it's a McLeod 260831 with the pucks on the flywheel side. A new
one's $190! :/ Thinking I'll pass on a new one. ;) I'd re-use the old one
but the center springs' pockets are looking like a spring or two might get
loose before long.

Uhhh... what was the question again?

I missed this thread!

My E4OD is at 236,000 miles without a rebuild, just a fluid and filter service every 100,000 or so.

Ryan

I'm on my 2nd truck with a E4OD that has logged over 200K miles on the original transmission. Sold the first one with about 235,000 on it, still ran fine. Current one is sitting around 210,000. One thing we've done religiously with both trucks is engage the "OD Off" button freely if not on Interstate, over 60 mph driving.

Marquis is approaching 200,000 miles- also on the original transmission. Same story. Keep in mind we have hills here- a typical 10 mile drive can take you from sea level to 1,000 ft elevation... and back.

So what do you do to put so many miles on vehicles?
Traveling salesman or what? :)

Alvin in AZ has about 250k on his 38 year old '75 F150

200000 /20 years old is only 10000 a year . Around here the average 05 on the lot will have 80 plus thousand already if not more .I see 3 yr old trucks cars with 60 on them .

I work hour average from hour one way most more so 20000 plus is normal. Groceries is 25 miles
