looking forward for this spring to being a good one, but i got a question on some tailpipe styles, i been looking to get dual pipes one exiting drivers and passenger rear just enough to be street legal. thing is im going to do it short pipes and the pipes are going to maybe fire at the front of my rear tires, is that a bad idea? my pipes shooting at the tires constantly? or would that be good in anyway? the flare is pure off roader bound fyi

^^^Considering ambient temp and actual exhaust temps at the point of exit, it really doesn't make a difference. Not to mention, most exhaust is blown out and away from the truck.

Ford actually has several trucks with exhaust exits in front of the tires. I'd go with it, but get the tips out there enough to keep the exhaust out from under the truck.

Ford had a side exit on 1997 F150s but did away with it because people complained that the right rear wheel would be dirty from what I read.

i would either dump it infront of the rear end or run it out right in front of the rear fender well, i wouldnt think it be hard on the tires

Ford actually has several trucks with exhaust exits in front of the tires.
But, none on the left side, because Ford never routed a left exhaust pipe adjacent to a fuel tank.

On the Lightning models with dual exhausts, the left side uses a crossover pipe to the right side before the fuel tanks, and then both pipes exit out the right.

People that install duals where the left pipe routes adjacent to the fuel tank(s) are just asking for trouble.
