Tailgate...what says you...

Probably going to snag this as a replacement for Red's. looks like all it needs is to be stripped, primed and painted red.

^^^Ceiling mishap. Stuff in storage in the attic fell through the ceiling and left a nice 4x6 dent above the handle and nice 4" gouge/dent on the passenger side. Luckily the tailgate was the only thing affected.

Wow... That sucks. Looks like a fine replacement though. I'd do it.

Only thing I worry about is...what's under that upper chrome strip.

Probably not much under there. I had one on the 250 and took it off before selling it and it polished right back up. Granted I didn't get it out in any weather but I'd bet it is clean under there.

What is up with the rest of the bed? Looks like factory rails on it.

I'd grab it. Especially if it isn't bad priced. Keep seeing one around here for $300, wonder why they have to keep listing it...

Thanks for the input. The guy says it was about a 3 year old restore...hit something head on and scraped the side. The rails are in good shape. How much do those rails go for???

With the absence of any trim, I'd say it's a replacement and newer than the rest of the truck.

^^^Even if it is a replacement, DC are the only folks that stamp the Ford in the tailgate aren't they??? Regardless, I just paid for it, so I guess I'll find out. Cheaper than I could even get a Chinese reproduction for.

What a shame to see that truck tore up. The bed rails look to be OK. I'd say 150 for the set would be a reasonable price. I'd bet you could probably buy them for 50 from the guy.
