Steering Column

You must want the locking steering wheel ?

It will work but the wiring is different.

AT or MT ?

I have one from a 75 here you can buy or go whole hog and buy one of the Tilt columns I have.
They are both for automatics

The 75 is straight bolt in the

the Tilt will require NSS modifcation

If you were a bit closer, unless you want a road trip, got one here as well, I'm swapping in a tilt anyway...

They'll swap, but like Million said, wiring is different.

Did you break the tab off the shift tube?

Not likely, pretty much everything is different.

I dont really know what broke...it was broke when I got it.

Will a brake booster off of a 1980-1986 F-150 work on my 1977?

Please start another thread.

There are so many variations for these trucks

If you tell me what you have to put it on I can give you a number to match it to

Wiring should be the same, the ignition switch is still in the dash. I would think it should be a direct fit.

No, the 78 C6 has the NSS mounted on it. On the 77 the NSS is on the column

Ah, ok, not quite direct wiring. Doable, but not a direct match. Forgot about that. You have the choice of bypassing the NSS, or setting one up on the trans if it has the capability.

The column on the older trucks had the switch under the dash on the column. This didn't necessarily mean the transmission was in park or neutral, only that you had selected it. The later safety switch was moved to the trans, that way, the trans truly was in park or neutral when you try to start it, or it won't start.
