Dunno if it has any correlation, but since the NRCC has been split, I'm getting my notifications in real time again...but that could have been my end too.

Maybe not your end but looking back through the number of posts you have in the NRCC thread it is probably your fault.

Pages won't load for me and the site is slow.

Just had a little blip for about 10 minutes for me too, but back to normal.


And slow loading again...and emails are lagging behind...about 15 minutes

We are working on the issue folks. One of the things I have been told is that some of the larger threads are serious resource hogs.

What does that mean? It means that we are going to be shutting down (or already have shut down) some of the rather large threads we have here.

1000 posts is the magic number we have been given by the bosses so when a thread hits that number you will likely see it locked up and a V2 (version 2) thread started to replace it. It has nothing to do with the thread needing any kind of moderation. These locks are based ONLY on the threads size. So if a replacement thread is not started by the mod or admin that locks up a thread then feel free to start a second thread yourself.

I would...but then I'd never be here, that's what I use to know to come back. My post padding dramatically goes down when I gotta come back and search my CP or find new posts, and then have to scroll through the thread to see where the first unread post is. The notification eliminates all that.

Alright...it would appear the email issue is from my end:


Email Update: Mail delivery may be delayed for some users due to a denial of service attack on the OIT Proofpoint servers. The denial of service attack has originated outside of the university’s network. This will not affect email sent from one Tmail/Exchange account to another. Email sent to or received from an address outside of Tmail/Exchange may be delayed. We will update the OIT Traffic Center when the situation improves.

ive been having problems with it timing out, saying that the server has timed out, but that has happened with serveral other sites.

Seems to be working much better...pages are loading quicker and I haven't had any posts not show up...only issue there seems to be is when submitting a reply etc, it seems to just kinda do nothing and if you enter it again, a message shows that you must wait 30 sec between posts...so obviously it has been entered on the forum but a delay in showing you.

Same exact story for me. However, the post submission problem happens rarely for me.
