rear axle is leaking from where the driveshaft connects to the pumpkin

whats that's part name??

because i wont ask the guys at napa hey the seal where the drive shaft connects the the rear pumpkin they will look like me like they are seeing the ocean on fire..

just want to know the parts name

rear axle seal? something like that?

Pinion seal. Also check for play in the bearing, same name, pinion bearing.

yeah that seal is called the pinion seal. the axle seals are the seals on the side of the axle at the edge of it just behind the backing plates
 
When you replace the seal tighten the nut to 12-15 Inch pounds torque rotation with the hubs off. No more than 15 Inch pounds.
