Random Scab questions

If you've seen my other thread, you know what I have. If not, it's a 78 supercab 4x4.

Now, I know I want to lift it. I have seen kits on ebay and such, but am not sure what is best and can't find a whole lot of info on it since the Scab has the front leafs. I'm looking for 4", would like 6" but my heart is def set on 4. I want to run 37-38s and want to avoid blocks if I can. I also (no offense to those of you that like them) think that body lifts are ghey, so that's not an option. I have seen that you can do it just using leafs off of other trucks, but haven't found a lot of info about it. I've been through about half the pages in the gen 6 section so far, and I'll keep looking but thought this might be quicker.

*If there is a kit, where is the best place to look?

*If not, what parts can I use to make it?

Next question. The Scab is a heavy half, so if I took the axles out of a 250, does that effectively make it a 3/4 ton? Of course this would include springs, which would bring me back to the "which kit do I need" question.

Another question. Do these kits come with shackles? Do you just reuse the stock ones? I had to cut one of mine off and was going to buy a new one, but figure if I'm gonna have to replace it with something else during the lift, I might as well wait.

I'm going to replace all four springs regardless of what I do, so if I can find a cheap way to do it, I'm all for it. I don't mind using used parts, I can blast and coat them if need be, but I would like new if I can. I'm working on sellling my car (91 Galant VR4) and plan on using that money to get this done, so hopefully in the next few weeks. Any help would be appreciated.

Like Mark said, Skyjacker used to make a 4" kit for your truck...dunno if they still do. Worst case scenario...start taking measurements, ie spring widths, spring pack, eye to eye lengths, etc. And now have someone make you some springs, piecemeal a kit together, or go a little higher end and tell someone like Deaver what you have and your measurements and see what they can come up with.

where are the other scab owners? I know some of them have done it, I've found pix of the trucks? Thanks for the help so far. Maybe I'll just have to wait and call around.

Something you might know, if I'm going to swap my 9" rear for a dana 60, will I be using the same springs or would I need the ones from the f250? Will the springs from an f250 bolt right up on this truck? Is there somewhere with good info about the suspension on these trucks? I search everynight, but can't quite answer my questions.
