Steps...
1. Remove the two dash pieces to expose the column and under the steering wheel.
2. Remove the 10mm bolt that holds the ignition switch together. It will be in the middle of this gray cover.
3. Unplug the ignition plug. At this point there is two different routes you can go. You need to decide if this is going to be a permanent deal or if you ever want the option to put it back to stock. If you want to return to stock eventually then you can either plug into the spade terminals that are listed above to make the connections OR jump wires off before it comes into the switch to keep the ignition switch plugged in. I am hard wiring this in so I will be deleting the ignition switch all together.
4. Now it is time to move up to the column cover. For this you will need to remove the four phillips head screws that hold it on and drop the bottom off, then pull the top up and slide off the shifter knob.
5. To do a true keyless push button start you will need to remove the tumbler and key out of the column. To do this insert your key in the ignition and turn to run. Then with a small phillips screw driver or a punch of some sort push the button in the hole on the under side of the tumbler...
6. Pull the key out while still in run and the tumbler will come with it. It comes out fairly easy so if it is not coming out easy then you don't have the button pushed in enough. This is what it will look like out of the column...
This is what it will look like inside the column. At this point you have fixed the steering lock and shifter lock. You will have full control of the funtions of the column and wheel...
7. I am otping to smooth over where the key hole was in the cover so there will be some body work to make this happen. Hope to have some progress pics as I go along. Here it is smoothed out and modified, ready for glass work and finishing...
I have my switch on order and a few other things as well. I will update as I do more.
