Poor mans floor pans

So I bought a '77 F250 and while it's not in the worst shape, the floor had rusted through on both sides. So I "fixed" it....

Cut out the rusted areas and riveted 22ga steel down with a healthy amount of adhesive. Once the adhesive dried, I applied a generous dose of Rust-Oleum undercoat to both sides. Thoughts?

There is adhesives that are used for body panels. I have one parts truck that they glued the patch panel on, and I can pull them off by hand. They don't maintain shape of course, but the fact is, I am not sold on them for cosmetic repairs. I would expect it would work fine for your use there. The undercoat will keep the rust from forming between the layers. The factory is using adhesive for many things, like door hinges and roof lines, just a matter of one that is strong enough.
