So I bought a 94 f150 4x4 with the 300 inline 6. It has 157,000 miles on it. It has a few issues, I am slowly getting them taken care of, but one thing is still bugging me. It has to roll over several time before starting. The check engine light does come on, after checking the codes, it seems the EGR is not opening. That will not have any effect on starting will it? Today I dumped in some fuel injector cleaner in half a tank, so it is a little more concentrated. The battery appears to be new, and the engine rolls over quickly, so it is not a battery issue. I have not checked the plugs or wires, could they make it hard to start?
One other thing. The auto trans fluid looks pretty clean on the dipstick but when I wipe it on a rag it is gray, how badly does it need changing? thanks
