new sound from a cassette!!

good day I didn't want to cut the new gauge dash panel that just cost me an arm and a leg for my 79 bronco so I just re-installed the old cassette that seemed to work well [old technoligy for sure!] So I ordered one of those portable cd players with the cassette adaptor with a 1/8" plug. And now at least I can play my cds! But heres the kicker I tried the wifes I-Pod and it works great! Realy good sound with lots of volume and at $100 quite a deal compared to the "retro radio I put in my s/c for about $350 or so.

I have the same issue. I have a brand new cluster panel that I don't want to butcher to install a CD player. I will probably save it until I can get a "retro" package. I wish they made one with a single CD player.

That sounds like a deal for $100 . Do you need some old cassettes ? I've got a bunch not being used . :rolling laugh:
I need to get a new dash panel, and I'd like to find an NOS truck am/fm radio.
Right now I have a car radio in there. Most wouldn't be able to tell the difference.:wasntme:

If it weren't for the hole being so small, they could. Since it has to be mounted remote, they just use the existing tech for a multi changer. You could make it a single by only putting one disc in.... ;)

True, but if I'm gonna put one in, I might as well put six in. :) I would just like something that is all in one.

Best way to handle it if you want it all contained is to make a below the dash mount. That way you don't hack up the mounting plate, but still have it readily available. Not ideal, I know, but the only other viable option short of doing the other trick of putting it in the glove box.
