I'm trying to get a hold of the guy. I've wanted a matching Bronco since I bought my truck...

For $500, it couldn't be that bad! Heck, in parts it could cost more than that. I guess if it disappoints, I could always part it.

If it's complete and relatively rust free, then i'd go for it.You could definitely make that $500 back if it turns out to be junk and you part it out.

Exactly my thoughts. I would love to have a Bronco. Then Ben won't rag me for not having a 4x4 :D

Looks pretty good. Better build a badass engine for it to justify driving a yellow truck :rolling laugh:

Will a 533 suffice? And, when done right, yellow can be B.A.! smilieFordlogo

BUT, I'd really appreciate a Ford drivetrain back in it.

While I have no issue with driving a Chevy, it would hurt some buying a new one. I don't want my money going to government motors... :D

I say go for it. Looks pretty rough, and some surface rust turning into something worse. I wonder what's going on with the front passenger side of that truck to be cut out of the pic. But yeah, worst case scenario, you part it back out and make a couple hundred bucks.

I'd still rag on you for being ghey.

Aww c'mon, yellow trucks aren't that bad...I'd be more worried about a pink truck.

And where do you plan on coming up with that 15k? And then the other 20k to beef up behind it?

While I'm at it, I'll supercharge it and have a BIG blower hanging out the hood...

Fail...it's expired

it has a chevy engine

Even bigger fail

And your motto will be Built Ford Tough with Chevy Stuff??? :rofl2:

I always hated that. What's so difficult with at least putting a blue oval back in. I never got the 'Chevys are easier to work on'...turning a wrench is turning a wrench. And everything bolts up...well within the engine families, alot of Ford parts are interchangeable as well. And Ford's are sooooooo much more expensive to work on, I do see Chevys tend to have the same part at a cheaper price, but not anything to write home about.

While I have no issue with driving a Chevy, it would hurt some buying a new one. I don't want my money going to government motors... :D

Triple fail in one thread...that should equal a ban.

Well, I talked to the owner tonight. He's a long time Ford guy, and has had several Broncos. He has two pre-78's and this one. He also has a few dents and bumps. He has had it for 25 years and let it sit to finish his older Broncos. He put emphasis on the fact that he doesn't want it to be parted out. smilieFordlogo

No seats in the interior, but he does have the bench somewhere. Interior was stripped - it was trashed when he bought it.

One issue: how do I get it home?!

Tow it. I have a couple methods less than safe if it's a reeeeeeal short trip, but let's keep that as a last resort. But this is what I would do if I couldn't get a trailer and I was going less than 10 miles. Make sure the brakes function and all pertinent fluids are where they should be, then get a jerry can and route a hose from the can to the carb, put a lawn chair in the driver's section, drive extremely slow and have someone lead and someone follow you.

Next option, again a short distance romp. Check the brakes, and hook up a couple chains or tow straps. You need to be able to brake, but beyond that be towed on home.

Well, it's a 40 mile drive. Could my truck handle this one on a dolly?

See what a tow truck will charge for it. If too much then tow dolly or tow bar.

I dragged my 73 home with a strap but only a few miles.
