Well, I miscalculated the miles. It's a 70 mile drive. I have thought about a tow, but I'm not sure of prices.

I could have a chat with my dad and see if I can get one of his tow rigs from the dealership. Or a new SD to tow a car hauler. :D

That will be cool if your dad can borrow one.

I used to have the luxury of having a tow truck around.

It could definitely get used around here! I'll make a call tomorrow and see what I can do!

Well, it's a 40 mile drive. Could my truck handle this one on a dolly?

Your truck could definitely handle it...it's roughly 5000#'s. But most places won't rent out those dollies for something as big as a Bronco. So you'll have to lie as to what you're towing. I've also read about guys who rent an entire box truck and transport it that way. Don't ask me how the rig gets from the ground to the box, but I've seen the pics on FSB.

See what a tow truck will charge for it. If too much then tow dolly or tow bar..

70 miles...I think would be a pretty outrageous tow bill. Although, I did pay $250 for a 10 mile tow one time on Christmas. I think the guy threw that number out to deter me, then when I said sure...he was pretty speechless.

I dragged my 73 home with a strap but only a few miles.

I've towed many a vehicle with a strap/chain to get them home. Got stopped once...but the officer was pretty cool about it, just said we had to park it until a tow came.

That would be pretty cool, I'm sure he's got a couple hook ups.

I've got a buddy down the street, he's a chevy guy...and I can usually get free tows from him now...but I still usually toss him a $20. It just irks me when I see one of my Fords behind his chevy tow truck or chevy rollback. I really need to get a trailer capable of transporting my rigs.

If you rent a tow dolly just tell them you are towing a Ford Escort or something.

Yeah the police do frown upon strap towing. But at least the officer was cool about it, Ben. I don't think anyone even noticed when I was doing it becasue I kept up with the speed limit and the lights worked on everything.
