It's just a brand name, but a darn good one, German. It is just the same as modern head lamps where when the bulb burns out, all you do is replace the bulb, not the lens assembly like the sealed beams.

Brighter and easier. Do you have to modify your truck?

No, Cliff. They are plug and play. Just make sure you get the right configuration for your truck . My truck requires the 9003 bulbs(HB2).

I've had a set of Hellas in my truck for a couple of years and am very happy with them. I installed a set of silverstars in the Hellas yesterday, and I didn't notice much difference between the original bulbs that came with the Hellas and the silverstars. Seems the original bulbs are pretty decent bulbs.

Hi Doug, I will have a spare set now when the originals burn out, Duncan is giving me a set of Silverstars!!!!!!:)

I will stay with the old style lamps. This is a low budget build on my truck.

just some pic's of the headliner I installed a while back. got lucky and found one in great shape from a '93 at the wreckers. had the cloth visors too.
