Locking hood latch

We will Rise Again
I was cleaning out my lawn shed and found my locking hood latch. I am wondering if it's all there. Not sure how good it works or if I am gonna use it.

Looks to be all there, Buck.

I always have to "tap" the hood after pulling the handle inside, then reclose the handle and reopen handle in order for the hood to pop. I have adjusted that latch every which way, but can't fix the problem. It's a minor inconvenience, but, nonetheless.......

Does the key still match the ignition/locks?

anti theft device

That pushing down on the Ford hood thing is an anti theft device to keep someone from opening the hood you just gave away the secret. :):)

don't play well w others
Mine always did the same thing!
I just figured it was a dent side thing.
Even with having to do that, I would still look for another set up if I were to get another dentside.

Ford Parts Guru
Locking hood latch introduced in 1978, could be retrofitted to 1973/77's.

All the parts are obsolete, about the only part available NOS is the hood latch itself which is the same as 1978/91 Econoline.

The F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco cable is the same as 1975/76 Granada/Monarch, none are available NOS
