I am going to order a pair of spring packs, front hangers, rear hangers, and shackles. Here's the side that's busted if you're curious of what missouri will do to a pickup...

Whoa! that's some major rust there dude.
You should paint your new springs with some Rust bullet or Chassis saver..

I'll just go with stock equipment and if it sags too much under load I'll do the add a leaf later.

As much work as it is to take the springs back off, add the leafs then put them back on and as much $$$ as it would cost to add the leafs, the logical thing would be to just add them prior to the initial installation.

Also, I don't know if you were planning on getting all new hardware or not, but reusing the old nuts, bolts, ubolts is a bad idea. Do you have a torque wrench that is ACCURATE at 150-250 ft lbs? If not, you will need to get one.

I have a favorite hardware store in Lee's Summit. I buy all my nuts/bolts there and they have an extensive grade 8 section, including nylon stop nuts and lock washers. The only thing I'll really be reusing are the perches and u bolts.

The F250 pack is 2" + Over a set of F150 fresh F150 springs but ride is worse . I get HD f150 or just add extra leaf . Here I can get leafs separate . About $30 for 2 . Really if hangers were good new center bolts and u-bolts and replace broken leafs .

The rusted hangers r common . Every auto parts ,wreckers has aftermarket ones on shelf. As well as broken front coil towers

Just to night I was parked behind a 96 with 50000 miles my truck was 3 " lower . Course mines was ex cab and 200 lbs in back but they do sag.

Ford recommends pinch nuts, not nylon nuts. Nylon is not as durable as the pinch style.

Last I checked, NAPA had a decent price on grade 8 ubolts that fit leaf springs.
