Ryan the bottom line is that if the springs have a higher load capacity-- they will ride stiffer. Also keep in mind that you'll need to get 3" wide blocks, as well as the u-bolt plate on top of the spring pack (the plate that the u-bolts bolt onto).

I think you're better of sticking with your springs, unless you deparately need the added capacity.

My front hangers are solid. I could take them off, clean them up and save $90. And no bolt plate... that's another 100. Of course I'll probably get the front hangers anyway. I trust the plate but the front hangers might not make it another 15 years in Missouri salt.

No, the plates aren't, but I thought you meant the small piece that sets on the axle and provides a landing for the springs. I could reuse those.

Spring perch? That should be reusable.

But I'm speaking of the u-bolt retaining plate. The holes for the u-bolts are space according to the spring width-- you will not be able to use a 2.5" plate on a 3" spring pack.

Yes, that's true - I had accounted for those being 100 bucks (52 a piece) if I were to do the swap.

Did I have an add-a-leaf in my pickup or something? I have 5 leaves in my spring pack.

Show me a picture of your spring pack and I could probably tell you. I'd need to see the ends of the leaves in the pic.

None of those look like AAL's to me. The dead giveaway is generally the shape of the end of the leave. AAL's are generally square and blunt, as opposed to being rounded/tapered.

That's what I'm saying is that my bottom leaf isn't tapered off like the rest.

Ryan
Yeah I was looking at that too... But it has the hole drilled with the separator pad-- which also makes me think it's stock.

Again these are just assumptions-- but they're based MOST of the AALs that I've seen. There's no strict formula.

EDIT: I'm sorry I was looking at my picture  Nah your bottom leaf could be an AAL... But it would be awfully strange to put an AAL at the bottom of the pack like that... Anything is possible I suppose.
