Key fob programming

I did search and tried the turning the ignition 8 times off and on and stopping on the 8th with ignition in acc. The locks are supposed to cycle and then you can program the new fobs . Nothing happened. Then I tried the other option. Of jumping the 2 pin harness going to the lock module.again nothing. Am I missing a step somewhere? Tia

Many of the vehicles you need an actual computer to plug into the obd port to program fobs to the vehicles.

Key on jump two pin connector when locks cycle remove jumper and press button on remote. Locks should cycle. Remote is programmed. Turn key off to exit program mode.
