In line six timings off

My budys truck just stoped running. I have the truck in my shop. I went to put it at tdc and the hamaonic balincer is on zero but the piston is at the bottom. So then I put the piston on tdc and the distrubuter is at number 4 in the fireing order. Could the rumber in the balencer sliped. Im woundering if I just move the fireing order on the distributer so that number 1 starts ware 4 should be if itlll run. If u need more info just ask ill try to answer what u need.
Thanks greg

Put a socket and breaker bar on the crank pulley and try n turn the harmonic balancer by hand...if it slips in the rubber, it's bad...that shouldn't cause the no run condition though.

sounds like it jumped timing... i'd put the distributor in its correct placement and then try to run it... and see how it goes.. if the distributor gets off timing again, well then you've got issues... possible that the timing gears chipped a tooth... not likely but possible..

Ok I.started from scratch. **** loads of eather got it to run sounds like its down a cylinder running real ruff.pulled the distributer key ways r good not missing any theath. Cheacked the timing gears all good thier to. Riped the.valve cover off didnt ober rev or bend a push rod. Thiers no shavings in the oil so I dont think he blew it up just yet. But what I dont get is how thr motor is tdc intake stroke and the distrubuter is set at # 4 did I miss any thinh

Its time to junk her
Thanks greg
