Y-block yellow (think this is the right shade):

The valve covers and some other engine stuff are argent silver. The hub caps were also and had blue lettering. Some people say the lettering was red. I have seen the 56 dealer brochures and they looked blue to me.

Not sure what to believe on that part. LOL

Way to go man, learning and doing it yourself is the only way to go. Can't blame you on the gear swap though... ha.

Well thats where the confusion starts, my fan is bigger and should be more powerful than the taurus ones, The Mark 8 uses the same fan as the T-bird. I skipped the low setting all together, I only use high (but I do have a 160A alt for the winch) I might have to replace the radiator but it cooled fine with the stock fan and clutch so I assumed everything was ok in there. I have a spare one sitting around, might have to throw it in.

Here's my install writeup: Read through the whole thing, I changed it a bunch toward the end.

EDIT: Thanks Conner!
Finished reading that thread. Very clean install! YelloThumbUp

Though I am a bit concerned about your wiring... You didn't post any diagrams so I can't be completely sure but I only see 2 relays and lots of switches. Do you have a copy of the wiring diagram that you followed?

Brian thats a cleeeeean motor! I can only imagine!

Chris I kinda made it up as I went along because I messed around with switched power vs batt power and piggybacked off other circuits I have in the cab and stuff, it's probably different now than in the thread, I'll have to go add some more. What I have now is 2 switches in the cab, one is auto-off, one is auto-on. The LED on the auto-on switch illuminates when the fan kicks on so I can keep an eye on it. I just leave that one on all the time, it kicks off 10-60 secs after I shut off the truck depending on how hot it is. I'll draw up a diagram if you want. In the box there is only the large relay and the thermo switch.

A side note on that, I got suspicious today and took out the radiator and guess what, it's about 40% clogged with mud! Go figure.... I hosed it all out and I assume my overheating probs are gone. We'll find out, I'm towing the bikes and quads to Stonyford tomorrow. (steep windy hills)

Welcome aboard Rick. Nice ride!

Travis, that ps pump might work better with a pulley on it. :p

Yeah I'm a bit concerned about your wiring... But I can't say for sure until I see what you did... In order for proper switching between the two windings in the fan you need to have a series of relays instead of just 1... Not to mention the fact that you've got two separate switches in the cab (as opposed to a 3-way switch like mine) which might enable you to give power to multiple parts of your circuit at once, which may or may not cause some nasty electrical problems. Can you draw up an accurate diagram for me?

As for the mud in the radiator, I bet that's your overheating problem. Be sure to report back with your findings. I was pretty disappointed to hear that you weren't happy with the efan mod.
