Hello again,

I Bought my new tires and installed them today and they do not look right at all. I have run 36/12.5 TSL SX before and the tires did not look like this. My new ones are 38/14.5 on a 10" rim. I know bias sometime are not as flat, but this is weird.

They are at 20 psi, I went from 30 to 20 and noticed no difference. When i called back to 4 wheel parts, the man said, "oh yea, the 38 crowns more than any of the other sizes. I will call interco direct tomorrow.

To Much tire width for the rim will cause crowning......you went to a wider tire which is why you notice it with this set over the previous which were 12.5's...

I replaced 38/15.5/16.5 (sam-55) with a 38.5/14.5 (sam-76).

The reference to the 36 tls sx was on a different truck i ran 5 years ago, Those tires were flat with zero bulge.

the picture below is 36/12.5 tsl sx on 8 inch rims

Chris i just went and measured the tread width on my 38-12.50-16.5 TSL Swampers the measurment is 9 1/2 inches across the tread..on a 10" rim width their going to sit pretty flush with the road or even invert slightly in the center...imo the 14.50 is to big of a jump for a 10" rim....

Buzz,
The tire that i took off were 15.5 wide and 100% flat. (Pictured below). no crown. interco recommends 16.5x9.75-12. I will update after talking to them directly.

I guess my biggest concern is these tires are already slick on wet pavement, and i can see daylight under all but the most center of the tire were it meets the road. The surface contact of tsl's are already low and now i cut that by another 50%.

It will be more for parades, picking out Christmas tree, and and occasional trail ride. It has lived to many years to start beating it now.

OK Chris..if thats what is recommended...Interco has some explaining to do...No way should they ballon that much imo...the centers will wear out pretty damn quick...along with tread contact surface which you have already noticed...I would like to hear what they have to say about it...The truck is looking Good Chris!!
