Ok, yea, the truck is set up with a tow package, custom rear bumper, and had a camper shell that I took off. She hauls really well (4 horses w/o a problem) and hasn't even stalled on me. Although I can tell the starter is starting to go. Gonna replace that when I get to NC. Then change or mod something every month until I get her looking better than my prom date!

Well, the reason I don't like it here in Hawaii is cause my kids are 2500 and 4000 miles away on the Mainland, I'm stuck on a rock in the middle of the ocean, and I grew up in the mountains of Colorado. The people are ok, the food is good, but it's expensive to live here. I just want to be back on the mainland, feel the cold, and the snow. So yea, you could say that I'm homesick.
Welcome to FTF

A bit of trivia....

When the fleet was moved to Hawaii from the west coast for the first time in May 1940, the CINCUS, Admiral J.O. Richardson complained to FDR that all the families were 1000's of miles away.

Richardson didn't like the duck pond either, what he called Pearl Harbor...saying it was unsuitable for a Naval Base because a ship could be sunk at the entrance, bottling up the ships in the harbor.

Richardson complained so much that FDR fired him, replaced him with Admiral Husband E. Kimmel.

When Kimmel took command, the US Fleet split into two sections. Kimmel became CINCPAC, while Admiral E.J. King became CINCATL.

US Naval & Military Historian.

I just returned from 2 weeks in Hawaii.

While the wife was sunning herself at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, I was touring the current and former military installations, and memorials on the island:

Wheeler, Schofield, Fort De Russy, Hali'ewa, USS ARIZONA, MISSOURI, UTAH, Punchbowl, Pearl Harbor, Ford Island and etc.

This is what I usually do in Hawaii, this was my fifth trip, including the 40th anniversary of the attack on December 7, 1981.

As for the roll along package, yes I have heard about it on other sites. As far as I know, it was pretty much a 'camping/luxury' package that Ford did in conglomeration with these guys:

http://www.roll-a-long.com/
FoMoCo most likely did not do it in collaboration with Roll-Along.

Ford Dealers, however did do this with Roll-Along, Centurion, and most of the other travel industry motor home and camper makers.

btw: MG: Morris Garage.

If it leaks oil due to shrunken cork gaskets, or burns oil. Overheats during the engine warm up period in frigid climates. If the heater hasn't worked since day one....

If nothing electrical works due to Lucas. If it rusts out in the desert where no rain or snow has fallen since grandma was a girl....

If there are six bolts retaining the part when two would suffice...it's a British car!

How do I know? Cuz, I owned these rolling piles of misery: 1951 MG TD, 1953 Triumph Mayflower, 1956 Jaguar XK160, 1960 Cloud II Roller, 1962 Bentley Continental Flying Spur, 1976 Jensen Interceptor.

Lol I know what it's like to have finicky bugs in the british cars-- we've got 2 MG's. But they've actually been relatively problem free, especially the red one since my dad rebuilt and restored it. The only problems we've had since then were bad electric fan motors and a finicky electrical overdrive issue that I've yet to resolve.

Within two years, I replaced SIX fan switches, THREE fan motors on my (former) Jensen Interceptor.

Why? Because they are made by Lucas, that why!

Lucas is the British definition of C-R-A-P!
