How to fix rust holes

Does anyone know a better way to get rust over the finders fixed without bondo? Any ideas?

Welding in new metal is about the only way if there are rust holes. If just pitting you can use body solder.

Yup buy the wheel well patches cut out, weld in(or bond) do body work.

Do auto part stores actually sell finder patches or is it easier to make one myself?

I know Sherman Parts has patch panels. They have an online website so you can try them.

LMC Sells em, I think there on ebay also.

There are plenty of sources, just have to look for them.

If you cannot find generic parts (body shop term LOL ) they are in yellow pages . Most all auto wreckers sell them here and ask a body shop they will give you a supplier .Hey they might get a paint job out of \you later .

Avoid LCM and the like you will find better prices . I get them local with no shipping costs .

And you will still need bondo. Unless of course you know how to lead, or are a metal maestro.

If he takes his time in prepping the repair all he would need is glazing putty to smooth it out.

Bondo ain't bad, just has to be used properly...

Exactly. Plastic body filler is a tool, but not the solution.

Wish I could find the pics of the RX7 I did a few years back, Bondo was over an inch thick in places.

Love it. I know a guy that built some Bronco quarters out of bondo.

That was the RX7, three quarters way down and all the way back. I just cut it out and replaced the quarter.

Sounds like the one car I did also.
Over half of both where nothing but a single sheet of newspaper sprayed over with sprayable filler. Looked perfect painted couldn't tell it was filler at all.
