Thats how it became for me after awhile, call to check in around 9 and she was alright with it, as long as i wasn't out late, and didn't get into trouble.

I'm with 95F350XL, I knew more about the family cars than either of my parents so when it came to that topic, they deferred to me. Which is why when I came home with 1965 Miller-Meteor Combination Hearse/Ambulance for my first car, they just kinda rolled with it.

I understand the point Dad is trying to make but all he's teaching the son is how to be obstinate and unable to accept that someone else might know more about a given subject. But then it took my own father and I quite a few "rounds" to see eye to eye at that point in my life.

Yeah, the silicone will just make a mess out of the parts that were never meant to be "glued" together.

What I am about to tell you could get you into a lot of hot water but fix the truck. The top main seal is available through many different suppliers including JBG, LMC, and NPD. Order the thing and replace it at a buddy's house. Take the opportunity to drive it around without the top on it. (Little devil on my shoulder grinning from ear to ear). But then its not as evil as fixing something the wrong way of half-a$$ed. I'll shut up now before I contribute further to the degradation of the father-son bond.

Yeah, I would love to replace the seal. I'm gonna start looking for somebody who can order it for me..

I dont think he has a credit card to get parts online. Id just duct tape it for now untill you get a new seal the tape wont be as permanant as silicone.

I'd rather not duct tape it, I don't feel like cleaning all the crap it leaves behind off. I'll deal with the leak.

Lol, poor kid, my parents couldnt tell me what to do, i wasnt a bad kid, fixed my parents cars, worked full time, managed to pay for school myself. I just did what i want, when i wanted LOL.

I'm not a bad kid either, my parent's just don't trust my judgment on things a lot of the time.

I fix everything we own too, dad doesn't like messing with it, so I normally fix it. Plus, I like learning how to do stuff.

They don't care what I do to my vehicles for the most part, they just go along with it.

Be a REBEL kid, do it!

:D

It's not that I'm afraid to do it, it just ain't worth listening to the complaining for a week.

Heck, I came home with my truck a little bit muddy, and they complained for three days.

Solution = wash truck before bringing it home. problem solved.

The problem is that his parents won't order anything online.

Yeah, they refuse to order anything offline...

If he has a savings/checking account he just needs to request a debit card and it will do everything a credit card can do...then he doesn't need to involve his parents at all.

They keep up with whats in it, and would definitely notice if any was missing.

WIN!
I was a rebel, my mom accpeted it, so i guess i wasn't a rebel any more...
lol.

I do random crap, and mom just kinda goes with it. She's seen me lay rubber leaving places, pass her speeding, ect.

It's dad that has a problem with things, to be honest.

Right now, as long as I say where I'm headed, approximately when I'll be back, and check in every few hours, it's all good...

I just hate missing curfue, everytime I miss it, doesn't matter if it's one minute after, they cut it back thirty minutes, for like a month. :hammer:

I lost an hour, in three days.

Scott, I like the touch you put on with the post-70s era bronco badge (off Bronco II I think?) looks great on that application

I wasn't to sure wether or not I was going to put those back on when I restored it or not. It was already there and I'm partially convinced that some dealers added those horses in the early 80's to maybe help with the sale of old stock. I have seen countless 79's with the horse in almost the exact same spot. They were also put on with the factory barrel clips.

Wait...how old are you? You still have a minor account? Open yourself up your own account and start slipping cash in there.

getting the part will be the hard part, take it to a friends change seals, then when the old man notices it not leaking, show him the old seal...

Thats what i would do.

Tell ya what Tyler...you have a paypal or anything or know someone who does? You or them send me the money and I'll order your seal and have it shipped to whatever address you want. Then hopefully we can get more topless Broncos in this thread.

That's what I would/will do as well.. he won't notice it not leaking though. He never drives it. He doesn't touch my stuff normally.

Neither of my parent's do actually...

I don't have paypal or anything... I'm gona try and get ahold of soembody around here who I think will order it for me, and then I can just give them cash. It would be eaiser that way.

If that doesn't work out, I may have to let you order it for me though.
