We'll see how it goes. Maybe if the body is good, I'll swap my engine and tranny over...

why? the extra weight from the ext cab will make it even more of a dog with a 351M in it.

and also doing that youll have a truck sitting there with nothing in it... just rotting away..

Yea... So I keep what's in my truck now and put a 460/429 in the crew. :D

omg.... bad idea... im feeling the consiquences of 1 money pit. and it is starting to suck. but when i get done ill be happy, since it is a daily driver.

Well, the idea is to have a DD and a weekender.

Why don't you just fix whatever you need to fix on your truck, austin? You will be money ahead. You are all over the place on what vehicle you want to buy. If you like your truck put some money into it and put the rest in the bank.

I'd love to have the whole truck lineup... Probably not going to happen, but I like to plan big.

I've got plenty I can do to my truck right now, but I need a DD so that I can have the truck off the road while I'm working on it. If I go something like the crew cab, I can work on it then put it on the road and take what I drive now off of the road to restore/mod.

So then why don't you buy some $500 beater car that actually runs to drive around while you fix your truck until you decide on what truck you truly want? One week a Bronco was your dream, the next an 80s pickup, now you are looking at a supercab, but want a crewcab project. :)

I want em all! Minus the beater.

I'm 100% torn on this. This will either be an absolute waste of your time because barely running trashed bodies SC's go for at least a grand...or the guy doesn't know what he has and you're gonna hit the jack pot with a sweet rig and all you'll have to do is swap in a good running engine ( and potentially a tranny)

The CL link you posted is a SC not a CC.

It's not nice to talk about Ann that way.

Seriously, I was always raised if it has wheels or a skirt, it's too expensive...but it'll be fun to drive. So there was no room to complain.

Chris...I've learned projects are never done....

To an extent I'll agree...and that's only because most guys don't have a lump some of cash to drop in to their rigs to do everything they want at one time. So by the time they 'finish' their project, whatever they did first needs work again. I know I was 100% happy and done with Red when she came out of the paint booth and she's remained the same for the last 7 years. But now that some of the wear and tear is starting to show up on corners I cut...it'll be a project again...because I didn't have the cash at the time to go all out on X. And now for the Bronco...if I had 10k to drop in it right now, I'd be happy until it was worn out again. So in theory, I agree with you...but they can be done for a period of time.

Agreed

Agreed. I'd still like to see a list or break down of what exactly he needs and wants broken down point for point.

You'll see what everyone is talking about eventually ;)

No doubt...I've driven my fair share of 4 bangers and beaters so I could pour everything I had in to a rig.

I got a 92 Buick LeSabre with your name on it.......

Any chance you'd want to salvage the entire AC system for me?
