A weak point on the car? My dad's is a good driver too, but the AC crapped out with about 140k on the clock.

With that kind of mileage something in the a/c can go wrong no matter what car. Overall they are pretty nice cars. I almost bought one for like $500 that was just painted, but didn't have the room. It did need an a/c compressor. But that is easy to fix.

Yeah...the whole system looks like an easy fix...but it's expensive as hell. The kicker is, I see these things in JY's all day long...but no one wants to part one out...they wanna sell the whole car. I asked a guy yesterday if I could salvage the AC parts...he told me no, but I could take the whole car for $800...keep in mind the car was on cinder blocks and was missing setas and door panels.

Rebuilt. I would think junkyard would be alot cheaper. However I wouldn't use a dryer from a junkyard because most likely it is ruined by moisture.

I used one (JY) on my super cab just so it would be factory correct. I left the vacuum on it for 7-8 hours. Works fine

Anyone else notice something odd about that ad? The Craigslist ad is titled '1974 Ford F100 Supercab'. I thought the first year for the supercab was 75?
