Wow.. you need gears!! Make no wonder your motor pings and your milage sucks, it's operating at 100% load all the time.
LOL!! Either that or he's got a magical SECOND overdrive which kicks in at 80, hahahah.

Nextras, ain't no way brother. Not unless, like Conanski said, you engine was loaded 100% at speeds 70+. The math just doesn't add up.

STOP DRIVING SO FAST!!

I mean... Drive fast if you want... But if you're gonna drive fast, don't ***** about the mileage. Guaranteed if you can tone it back you'll see better mileage.

I have. And I know you don't have to drive that fast.

Yeah, it's easier to just move out to one of the left two lanes and drop it, roll with traffic at those speeds, but my truck doesn't run that fast anymore (I suppose it might, but I'm not going to try it) so I stick to the slower lanes. It's a little more work because there's more cars merging and moving across your path, but I've never had any trouble driving at 70 anywhere in eastern MA on the interstate.

neither have I but my truck handles better at 80 than 70-75, i think it has something to do with where my truck is in the powerband.

im not advocating to drive fast, cause you dont get anywhere. Case in point, if we went 65 the whole way up, it would take an hour, where as we went 80 the whole way, we got there in 45 mins, saved us 15 mins for 15 miles an hour more.

Lol, no I live in California, the epicenter of ROAD RAGE. I know how it is to drive on a freeway full of people doing 90, but there's ALWAYS a slow lane. I typically stick to the right-most two lanes and cruise at 65, and I've never been rear ended. Trust me, you can do it YelloThumbUp

He drives that fast because he wants to, not because he thinks he has to. Stop trying to convince him otherwise. :)

If he lives through his first wreck, then maybe he'll slow down.
